Situated at the confluence of three mountain streams - Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundale, Munnar is 1,600 meters above sea level. Earlier Munnar was the summer resort of British government in South India. On our sightseeing tour, we visit Mattupetty Dam, Kundale Lake and Echo point.In the afternoon we proceed to Rajamalai. Today morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Kumarakom (5 Hours Drive). Check in to the hotel and relax for a while.Afternoon we proceed for local sightseeing in & around Kumarakom - a tiny backwater village perched on western banks of Vembanadu Lake. The serene backwater stretches for over 900 sq. km. which is truly a sight to witness. Opt for a canoe, motor boat or a houseboat to devour the beauty of this backwater paradise at its best.Stay overnight at hotel in Kumarakom. (B)
Relish morning breakfast at hotel. Today we proceed to Alleppey, known as “Venice of East”. Enjoy a 4 hour houseboat ride (at own cost) and freshly prepared lunch in the houseboat. Houseboat is the best option to explore the backwater beauty of this region. You may come across vendors selling fresh vegetables, sea food, etc. on small boats as livelihood of people in this region is mostly dependent on the backwaters.
